Corlac House and Barn (3+3bedrooms, sleeps 6-14)
This magnificent property consists of the 'Maison de Maitre' and adjacent converted barn, situated just 500 metres from the village of Sarrazac. Offering luxurious accommodation for 6 people in the house and a further 6 to 8 in the barn, as well as an 18 metre long swimming pool, extensive walled grounds and gardens, Corlac really will be an unforgettable location for everyone to enjoy.
Completely renovated in 2001, no detail has been overlooked to ensure you have everything you need. The house is spread over two levels, with access to two bedrooms from one stone spiral staircase, and the third bedroom from the second staircase at the other end of the house.
Ground floor
The front door leads directly into the large country kitchen/dining room.With stone flagged floor, open fireplace, exposed beams and stonework, it is full of character, while the fully fitted kitchen area has a range style cooker with double oven, 4 gas rings and a large hotplate which can be adapted for different styles of cooking. Marble worktops, two fridges and two dishwashers, loads of utensils, it is a chef's dream! A spiral staircase leads up to two of the three bedrooms, and also down to the original vaulted wine cellar.
Through from the kitchen is the formal dining room with original wood panelling, elegantly furnished for those special evenings, and space to seat up to 8 diners comfortably. You then lead on to the main entrance hall, and through to the spacious living room, comfortably furnished with 4 sofas, books, games, stereo and satellite TV, as well as another large open fireplace. A door at the end of the living room leads to the second staircase up to the third bedroom. As well as fireplaces in every room, the house has full central heating for winter comfort.
The 1st floor is accessed from two staircases- two bedrooms are reached from the kitchen staircase, and the third from the living room. All three bedrooms are furnished to a high standard with king size double beds and en-suite bathrooms with seperate WC's. Two of the bathrooms have baths, the master bedroom has a large walk in shower, as well as a seperate dressing room. Crisp white linen and large cotton bath towels only add to the feeling of luxury!
The Barn Situated at right angles to the house, the barn can be rented seperately or with the main house. With three further bedrooms, and fully equipped for individual use, it accommodates up to 8 people. The main entrance leads into the kitchen/dining room, fully fitted with a central island dividing the kitchen from the dining area. An open staricase leads up to the 1st floor, half of which is taken up with the light, airy living room with large sofas, Two of the three bedrooms are also on this level, both with en-suite shower rooms. The master bedroom has a king size four poster bed, and the beds in the twin room can also be turned into a double bed.
The third bedroom is on the ground floor and accessed from the outside only.It has 4 bunk beds cleverly designed to take up one side of the room, leaving plenty of space to unwind. The en-suite shower room with WC is at the rear of the room.
Shared facilities
The house and barn are surrounded by walled gardens and lawns, fruit and nut orchards. The large 18 x 4 metre pool with shallow steps for ease of entry is in the main raised garden to the side of the house and barn, protected by both a pool alarm and gate. Here you will find sun loungers and deck chairs, large table for outdoor eating and stone built barbeque. Shade is provided by some beautiful mature trees, there is a boule court, badminton and outdoor table tennis. The laundry room is situated to the rear of the bunk bedroom, equipped with 10km washing machine and dryer. The property is situated in beautiful countryside just half a kilometre from the tiny village of Sarrazac, with an 11th century church and popular restaurant serving local Quercy food. Just 1.5km up the hill is the village of l'Hopital St Jean, with a good boulangerie where you can stock up on basic provisions such as fresh bread, croissants, milk, eggs and fruit. The stunning market town of Martel is 15 minutes drive away, with twice weekly produce markets, restaurants and shops. For more details on the area please check our region page.

*Please note that the house and barn can be rented seperately in low and mid-season. If renting one property only, for a supplement of 600 euros in mid season and 400 euros in low season we are happy to keep the other property empty. We accept cheques in both UK pounds and euros as well as credit cards. Please note that although we do not surcharge deposit payments, we are obliged to surcharge final payments made by credit card by 1.5%. Prices are per week, inclusive of linen, towels, water, electricity and gas. We reserve the right to levy a surcharge if you require central heating or firewood. Babysitting, welcome hamper, cook and maid service are all available on request.
